About Jack Daniel Distillery

Jasper "Jack" Daniel founded his distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, in the 1800s, after learning the craft from Nathan "Nearest" Green, who became the distillery's first master distiller. The whiskey is filtered through sugar-maple charcoal before aging, the step that makes it Tennessee whiskey. Brown-Forman has owned it since 1956.
