About Buffalo Trace Distillery

Whiskey has been made on Buffalo Trace's site on the Kentucky River in Frankfort for more than 200 years, and it kept operating through Prohibition. It is named for an ancient buffalo crossing, has been owned by Sazerac since 1992, and also makes Blanton's, Eagle Rare and Pappy Van Winkle.
